Mwende's Bio
Mwende is a passionate young changemaker, born and raised in Kenya, with a heart shaped by resilience, compassion, and unwavering purpose. At just 22, she has already overcome more than most and continues to rise with grace, grit, and vision.
For 12 years, Mwende attended a charitable school dedicated to supporting orphans, abused children, and those in deep need. There, she was not only provided food, clothing, and education—but also perspective. Surrounded by stories of hardship and survival, she came to understand her own struggles in a broader light. That early experience planted a seed: a deep desire to empower others, especially children without a voice.
Excelling in her studies, Mwende earned sponsorship to attend high school, and later worked day and night to fund her university education—driven by a dream to graduate no matter the cost. Along the way, she met an MWIMPP ambassador, a moment she describes as life-changing. Through MWIMPP, she found her calling: advocating for children who are abused and often silenced. It was the path she had longed for—a chance to give others what was once given to her: hope, support, and a future.
Inspired by her mother, a woman who gave selflessly to others even in times of great struggle, Mwende carries that same spirit of kindness and determination. Despite growing up without toys and often uncertain about the next meal or housing, she watched her mother open their door to those in need. Today, Mwende honors that legacy in everything she does.
She holds a degree in Accounting and Finance, is currently studying to become a certified accountant, and is pursuing another degree in Business Commerce. Her ambitions stretch far and wide: Mwende dreams of becoming a successful entrepreneur with ventures in the beauty industry—makeup, shoes, hair—and beyond.
But at the heart of it all is her mission: To be a voice for abused children, to fight for their protection and healing, and to give them the chance at life that she was once given.
Mwende’s story is just beginning, and she’s building a future where purpose meets prosperity—and where no child feels forgotten.
